• Scholarship is a very important aspect of our chapter. The women of Alpha Phi work hard to maintain an outstanding GPA. We had half of our members on Dean's List for the Spring 2011 Semester.

Every semester, we encourage all the women to attend as many classes as they can, striving for academic excellence in each course. Alpha Phi encourages scholarship by awarding women at the annual Scholarship Banquet, which awards ladies for being on the Dean's List, having the highest GPA in their Bid Class, highest overall GPA, and the Highest "Phi Family" GPA.

Our Scholarship Director, Liz Mercado, has started a new competition for Spring '11 and Fall '11, 'The Academic Bowl.'  Girls have been divided into teams and submit their grades from assignments and tests to Liz.  Liz has made a point system, taking the weight of that test/assignment into consideration. The team members who accumulate the highest amount of points at the end of the semester will all be awarded with gift cards!

At our weekly chapter meetings, a "Word of the Week" is announced. The words have originated from 'GRE Vocabulary.' Whoever correctly defines the word first, wins a prize. This increases our vocabulary, and knowledge of word definitions we could potentially use in school work and our daily lives.

Overall, the Alpha Phi chapter at Baldwin-Wallace College takes academics and scholarship very seriously, and we strive to be the best students we can be, using each other as resources to enhance our academic performance.
